THC IPM Scout

Create repeatable scouting records for plant zones and traps, preserve counts and observations over time, and hand suspicious findings into Grow Doc without pretending a field observation is a diagnosis.

Scouting principles

Repeat the same routeTrap/zone IDs make counts comparable across dates.
Observation ≠ diagnosisRecord what is visible before assigning a pest, disease or deficiency name.
Thresholds belong to the user/programThe tool can flag an entered threshold without pretending one universal pest threshold applies everywhere.
Trend the countStable, rising and falling counts are more useful than isolated numbers.

Guided scout route

Use the same inspection order each round so observations are more comparable. This checklist structures observation; it does not identify an organism or prescribe treatment.

No active scout route.

Selected route trend

0records
—latest count
—change vs prior
—threshold status

Save repeated records using the same route/trap ID to create a useful trend.

Observed counts and your entered threshold are shown over time. A rising trend is descriptive evidence, not an organism diagnosis.

Escalation path

When a repeated count rises, visible injury appears, or identity is uncertain, preserve photos and measurements and open Grow Doc. The scouting record should remain the observational evidence trail.
