Watering & Dryback Field Card

Use this card to evaluate wet-to-dry behavior, container weight, substrate moisture, irrigation timing, and leaf posture before changing feed or watering volume.

Field checklist

  • Lift or compare container weight before watering.
  • Check whether the top, middle, and lower root zone are behaving differently.
  • Record last irrigation time, volume, runoff, and current plant posture.
  • Separate wilt from heat/VPD stress and root-zone saturation.
  • Watch whether symptoms improve, worsen, or repeat after watering.
Rule: watering is a root-zone decision, not a fixed calendar habit.

Watering & dryback timeline

Grow Doc prompt

I am using the Watering & Dryback Field Card. Container weight is [heavy/light], last watering was [time/volume], moisture is [x], runoff is [x], symptoms are [x], and VPD is [x]. Help decide whether this is overwatering, underwatering, dryback timing, or another root-zone issue.
