Stalled or Slow Growth
Slow growth is an outcome shared by many root, environmental, nutritional, pest, pathogen, genetic, and developmental conditions. Growth rate should be compared with stage and recent baseline.

- Did growth slow suddenly or has the plant always been slower?
- Are roots expanding?
- Are temperature, light, and water conditions suitable?
- Is the issue one plant, one cultivar, or the whole crop?

- Inadequate or excessive light

- Pests or pathogens

- Transplant or pruning recovery
Discriminating checks
- Measure growth over time
- Inspect roots

- Use magnification and testing where biological agents are plausible
