Every incoming lot or source event before release into the main plant area.
Preparation
Procedure
Step 1
Assign lot/plant identifiers and record source, cultivar/project name as supplied, arrival date, and quantity.
Record: Record traceability information without rewriting source claims as verified genetics.
Step 2
Inspect foliage, stems, growing points, media/root zone when visible, and packaging for pest or disease evidence.
Record: Record findings, photos, and any rejected material.
Step 3
Move material into the designated quarantine area and avoid shared tools, runoff, contact, or traffic patterns that defeat isolation.
Record: Record quarantine location and start time/date.
Step 4
Perform the observation and testing plan defined by the site's biosecurity program before release.
Record: Record scouting dates, tests, results, and unresolved findings.
Step 5
Document the authorized decision to release, extend quarantine, treat under an approved plan, or reject/dispose according to site rules.
Record: Record decision, basis, date, and responsible person.
Quality control
Every incoming lot has a unique traceable identity.
Quarantine start and release/rejection decision are documented.
Required scouting or testing records are complete before release.
