Each lesson is structured around a visual reference so the Atlas can replace dry text-first learning with observation and diagrams.Symptom location
Mark whether the first visible problem begins on old leaves, new growth, upper canopy, lower canopy, one branch, roots, or the whole plant.
Pattern description
Describe uniform, interveinal, marginal, spotted, tip-focused, twisted, wilted, or asymmetric symptoms before assigning cause.
Progression over time
Compare sudden, gradual, stable, spreading, and recovering patterns and record what changed before symptoms appeared.
Measurement context
Bring pH, EC, substrate moisture, temperature, RH, VPD, PPFD, and feed/water history into the same diagnostic record.
Differential workflow
Rank plausible environmental, root-zone, nutritional, pest, pathogen, and physical explanations and use new observations to narrow them.
Genotype × environment context
Use cultivar baselines, repeatability, developmental stage, environment, and plant-to-plant comparison to distinguish a stable phenotype from a newly emerging stress or disease pattern.

Compare discoloration, lesions, root loss, wilting, stunting, odor, saturation history, oxygen conditions, and pathogen evidence so root or crown decline is not assigned to disease or overwatering from appearance alone.
Senescence vs disorder
Separate expected age- and flowering-associated tissue senescence from atypical nutrient, root-zone, pathogen, or environmental decline by using developmental stage, distribution, rate of change, and healthy comparison plants.
Evidence weighting & confirmatory testing
Treat a visual pattern as a hypothesis generator, rank evidence by specificity and reliability, and choose the next discriminating observation, measurement, microscopy check, tissue test, or pathogen assay before escalating a diagnosis.
