Leaf Diagnostic Field Card

Use this card to document what you actually see before deciding what caused the issue. Observation comes first; diagnosis comes after pattern, measurements, pest inspection, root-zone context, and recent changes.

High-quality visual needed

Healthy vs stressed leaf observation panel

Final artwork should show a healthy fan leaf baseline, symptom position examples, old/new growth cues, upper/lower canopy location, and close-up leaf detail. Use clean academic styling, accurate cannabis morphology, readable labels, and no yellow tint.

Field checklist

  • Check whether the symptom starts on old growth, new growth, or the whole plant.
  • Check whether it appears in the upper canopy, lower canopy, one branch, or multiple plants.
  • Describe the symptom first: yellowing, browning, spotting, curling, drooping, twisting, or pest evidence.
  • Inspect undersides of leaves and nearby nodes for pests, eggs, webbing, or frass.
  • Record environment and root-zone context before correcting anything.
Rule: a leaf symptom is evidence, not proof.

Grow Doc prompt

I am using the Leaf Diagnostic Field Card. The symptom starts on [old/new] growth, appears in the [upper/lower] canopy, looks like [yellowing/browning/spots/curling], and current readings are [PPFD, temperature, RH, VPD, pH, EC, substrate moisture]. Help narrow likely causes and what to verify next.
